Calling all pet lovers! Let us immerse you into the world of Bon A-Pet-Treat!, a Calgarian-owned business that has stolen the hearts and tummies of pets across Canada. At Bon A-Pet-Treat! Pet Store & Bakery, the mission is clear: to provide furry friends with the finest products, to share our passion, and educate pet parents everywhere. 
 

The story began with one simple goal - wanting to spread awareness into what actually goes into our pets’ food! Why should it be so different than human food? Is there such a thing as a chicken or a carrot that is fed to a dog vs one fed to a human? If so, why??? Asking these simple questions led us to expose what the pet food industry actually had to offer. Not...much. For years we were trained to feed food from a bag from the grocery store or the vet. Not once questioning: "What is that strange sounding ingredient?" and "Don’t they get sick of eating the same thing everyday?" We sought to share our new found knowledge, and encourage others to ponder the same questions, as well as develop their own! Natural feeding was still a learning curve not only pets, but for people as well. By humanizing our treats, we wanted to show that things could not only look and taste great, but also provide some health benefits. After a successful debut at the Lilac Festival, we were able to plant our roots at the Calgary Farmers' Market. The positive response from fellow pet lovers fueled our expansion, leading us to establish our Montgomery location in 2007. What started as a treat haven soon grew into a one-stop destination, offering not just delightful snacks but also natural foods and an array of toys.
 

The excitement continued in 2019 for Bon-A-Pet-Treat! Pet Store & Bakery with the opening of our Britannia store, where we introduced beds, accessories, and more to our ever-growing product line. Our Britannia location also allowed us to provide a dedicated grooming experience with Peaceful Paws Grooming by Andrea. As if that wasn't enough, 2022 marked another milestone as we expanded our farmers' market locations to include the Calgary Farmers' Market West.
 

We are educators and advocates for animal welfare. We take pride in enlightening pet parents about the importance of providing their furry companions with the best; in-store and now online with our new blog! And we have a blast doing it! From whipping up homemade cakes and cookies to providing educational tools online, we make sure our four-legged pals have a tail-wagging good & healthy life.
